First Watch
Original pen & ink portrait. “First Watch” is my most recent addition to the Faces West Gallery, and was inspired by a recent photo posted to Facebook by a friend from college, Steve Rogers. Once I saw the photo on the News Feed, I commented that it would make a great pen & ink portrait. Steve responded “Go for it!”, and so, about a year later, here it is. I actually completed it quite a few months ago, but since I was in the process of updating and re-vamping the website for the past year, I had to wait until I got the new, improved version up and running. This portrait was completed using the stippling, or pointillism technique, and measures 11″ x 14″.
